A New Toy for ME!
I have always wanted to learn how to machine quilt myself, I have thought many times about signing up for classes, but they are always on weekdays, and besides that, my Brother machine that I use for piecing is really a struggle even to quilt a lapsize quilt in it. So, after asking around to Kim, Kim, and Sandy to name a few, I took the plunge and purchased a Juki TL-98Q from here on the recommendation of one of the Kims. It just arrived on my doorstep tonight. This thing weighs a TON! I am really scared, I think she might sit in my sewing room for a while before I try her out. I have another 4-day weekend this weekend, so I think I'll be testing her then. How exciting! Even if I only meander stitch my quilts, I'll be happy as a clam.
Well, I'm going to muster up my strength and lug this baby to my sewing room now.

Congratulations! She is a beauty!!!
I can't wait to see your first creation.
Congrats on your new baby. What's her name? ;-)
She is beautiful!! I can't wait to see what you create with her. This 4-day weekend coming up is the perfect time, too. Congratulations on your new baby!
YAY!! You can do it!
How exciting! I will be interested in reading how you like it.
Woohoo! My Juki Girl's twin sister has found herself a good home! Plug her in and take her for a drive. Be sure to give her a drink of oil first, yep, she's got a big strong motor and she's gonna need her oil to keep sewing strong, lol, I'm real happy for you, Beth, hope you like all the horsepower.
Better celebrate the New Year with hubby tonight. I'm guessing he's not gonna see much of you this weekend, unless he parks himself in your sewing room, lol.
That's a really nice machine! Can't wait to see how you like it! And all the quilts you get finished up! Go, Beth, go!!!
OOOOH, AHHHHHH! What a beauty! LOL! Sure looks familiar, too! LOL! Just remember: Don't push the pedal all the way to the floor! Drive it the way you would a car with a top end speed of, oh, say 300 mph! ROFLOL!
thats so exciting, can't wait to hear how easy it is to learn how to use it!
do you have a big table to put it on???
or does it go on a frame?
congrats!
Kathie
Happy New Year
What a lovely new girl you have there!!!!! your flying ah I mean quilting now girly... yep as Kim said give her a little drop of oil and take her for a test drive... (hang on the first lap around the race track) tee hee.... your going to love it! and I know you will be free motion quilting in no time at all! ewwww the extra neck space is going to be nice!!!
When my Juki first arrived, I was a little daunted, too. For the first three days, we just looked at each other and got acquainted. I moved her to the dining table and we had lunch every day. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship *s*
You're going to have so much fun! Just relax and play - don't let her intimidate you - show her who's boss!
